Some have been picking the Phoenix Suns to represent the Western Conference in the NBA Finals this season, but thus far, they have stumbled to a 5-6 record.

One factor has been injuries, as two of their stars — Bradley Beal and Devin Booker — have been banged up and have missed multiple games.

On the other hand, Kevin Durant has been playing about as well as he ever has.

He is averaging 30.1 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 4.7 assists a game while shooting 51.4 percent from the field and 45.5 percent from 3-point range, and he has scored at least 38 points three times in 11 games this season.

Durant took to social media to issue a warning to the rest of the NBA while evoking Drake, the popular hip-hop artist and avid basketball fan.

The Suns have a lot of work to do if they are to create some “scary hours” for the rest of the league this season.

Besides getting and staying healthy, they need to shore up their defense, which ranks just 15th in defensive rating.

Defense was one concern some had about the Suns coming into this season even though they hired a defensive-minded head coach in Frank Vogel, as they lack standout players on that end of the floor.

They were supposed to be an offensive juggernaut, but thus far they’re just 10th in offensive rating and 14th in points per game.

Another red flag has been the fact that Phoenix has given up multiple late leads, which is a big reason why they’re under .500 right now.
