Many have considered Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow to be one of the two or three best players at his position in the NFL over the last couple of years.

But this season, Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens has looked revitalized, and he has led his team to a 7-2 record, which is tied with the Kansas City Chiefs for the best record in the AFC.

The general consensus seems to have been that Burrow is a better QB than Jackson, but legendary tight end Rob Gronkowski begs to differ, as he said recently that Jackson is currently playing better, per “Up & Adams.”

Gronkowski cited the fact that Jackson is currently leading everyone with a 71.5 percent pass completion rate, and he has also run for 440 yards and five touchdowns through nine games.

In the past, it seemed the book on Jackson was to make him beat you by throwing the football down the field, but he has improved as a pocket passer.

One factor that has helped him is the emergence of rookie wide receiver Zay Flowers, who has 472 receiving yards so far this year.

In 2022, no wideout on the Ravens had 472 receiving yards for the entire season, let alone in a nine-game span.

Of course, Baltimore is chiefly winning with their defense and ground game, as they historically have going back to their 2000 championship team — they’re first in points allowed, second in total yards given up, and tops in both rushing yards and rushing touchdowns on offense.

Some aren’t fully sold on them as a legitimate Super Bowl contender, but they will definitely have something to say about how the race for the AFC title shapes up.

Burrow and Jackson will face off against each other when the Bengals and Ravens meet up in Week 11.
